Transportation Rules
From Nerdtionary
There are a number of transportation rules that sentient beings are required to follow. The list below is not all inclusive.
Section 16 - Proper use of a turn signal
- 16-A - Use your damn blinker when making a turn.
- 16-B - Don't leave your friggin blinker on when you are driving down the interstate old man.
Section 25 - Coexistence
- 25-A - No two vehicles will share the same space at the same time unless they are part of a giant mechanical robot construct that is combining the mass of multiple elements to make one bigger awesomer one. Mass must be retained unless it needs to fly via a near-magic device and then mass may be preserved in hammer space until flight is finished.
- 25-B - If two vehicles must crash into each other in an accident they must not end up inverted on top of each other with no damage to occupants or cargo.
Section 87 - Vehicle physics and behavior
- 87-A - Vehicles must respect the laws of physics unless there is a good story reason for them not to. Cars hitting ramps should not fly until they strike an object but should respect gravity. Spacecraft must have inertia and should not decelerate without reverse thrust while in a zero gravity vacuum.
- 87-B - No vehicle that is not intended for collisions should survive one unscathed. If you roll your car across an interstate and over a cliff you should not get out of it with only a minor flesh wound.
- 87-C - No land based vehicle may ever collide with an air based vehicle unless the air vehicle is in a parked/landed position. This rule was originally worded as "Thou shalt not kill a helicopter with thine car." in the King James version.
